Sib Shop for Siblings of Children with Autism and other Special Needs
This six week program will provide siblings with understanding and support with respect to having a sibling with special needs. Peer support and being a member of a unique group are the primary focuses. Participants will gain a better understanding of what it means to be a "special sibling"; the needs of their parents; and develop strategies to understand and meet their own needs in a special family.
Thursdays, May 14 to June 18, 2009 inclusive
6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Fee: $175.00

Social Skills: Friendship Group
This focused group will help participants understand what true friends are; how to make and maintain friendships; and manage conflicts with friends when they arise.
Thursdays, July 16 & 23, 2009 inclusive
1:00 to 3:00 pm both days
Fee: $110.00


Beginning Social Skills: Pragmatics

This two week play-based group is intended for young special needs learners who struggle to sit attentively in a group; follow group instructions; take turns in play and conversations; and use appropriate peer interaction skills.
Monday to Friday, July 13 to 24, 2009
9:15 to 11:00 a.m. each day
Fee: $280.00


Social Skills: Dealing with Bullies
This focused group will help participants understand what bullying is. Participants will acquire skills to recognize bullying when it is happening and how to effectively deal with bullies.
Thursdays, August 20 and 27, 2009 inclusive.
1:00 to 3:00 p.m. both days
Fee: $110.00
