kills Groups

The following social group learning opportunities will be offered this fall at BCTS, Inc.
Parents are encouraged to register early as spaces will be limited.

.
Social Skills Groups: October 2011 to June 2012
Schedule of Sessions and Curriculum

The junior group (ages 6 to 10) will be meeting on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
The senior group (ages 10 to 14) will be meeting on Thursdays from 4:30 to 5:30 pm.
Please note that a child's age is only one factor that determines which group would be best suited to meet the child's needs. Communication skills, ability to sustain attention and developmental level will also be considered.

The units are the same for both junior and senior groups. However, the complexity of the discussions and nature by which the goals in each unit are achieved (e.g. play-based vs. discussion-based activities) are different for the younger and older groups.

The format of these groups will run parallel to the school calendar. That is, there will be no groups running over the school Christmas / March break. The October starting date will allow your child to adjust to the demands of the school routine before adding another weekly expectation. The nine months of group intervention will cover thirteen units of social learning.

Autism, behaviour analysis, ABA, Intensive Behavioural Intervention, autism treatment
